Eyelure Magnetic Liner and Lashes
And I am baaaack with more eye product reviews. But this time I have videos too!
So I am sure people heard of the magnetic lashes craze when different false lash companies claimed that you could do away with glue and just get these magnetized lashes pieces. You pinch your natural lashes between the two pieces and viola! Except... it was an EPIC FAIL.
So seeing these lashes that promised to stick to the magnetic liner seemed like kind of a tall tale after the numerous failed attempts I had with the magnetic sandwich lashes. However, for the sake of beauty, I bought a pair from Eyelure.
So here's the point where you can click on my video and watch, or if you'd rather just get down to it, read below.
The magnetic liner is a liquid liner in a bottle. The directions say to apply three coats and wait in between each coat for the liner to fully dry. I am not going to lie. That was a little harder than it looks because it does not dry entirely matte. The reason you have to wait for it to completely dry is so that it adheres to your skin properly. Otherwise, when you go to put the lashes on, it is just going to pull the wet clumps off of your eyelid and you have to start the whole process all over again.
So if you didn't watch my video, I wanted to make sure that these lashes were going to stay on my face. What's the point of magnetic liner if the lashes are just going to fly off in the wind? I couldn't conjure up a windstorm, but I could use my hairdryer. I turned it on to the cold setting (because I'm not a monster) and blasted it on high. To my amazement, the lashes. stayed. on. One lash on the outer corner of my eye came a little loose, but that was due to me tearing up after blasting the hair dryer too close to my eyes at first. It was a little hard to get all of the eyeliner off. I had to get out my oil eye makeup remover which is fine but not something I normally have to do.
The kit which includes the magnetic liner and lashes retails at $16.99. The lashes can be reused up to 15 times if properly cared for.
Want to know a bonus? This magnetic liner works with other brands of magnetic lashes. That's right. You read that right. I tested it out myself with lashes from Kiss and it worked! ALSO, I put eyeshadow and glitter over the liner to see if it would still hold up and guess what? It. still. worked.
Long story short
Pros: price, easy to use, long lasting, smudge resistant, reusable, no glue residue
Cons: wait time in between coats, needs oil makeup remover to be fully removed
This is a definite Kel Yeah! in my books. This is ESPECIALLY a win if you are already someone who does a winged eyeliner look before applying lashes. If you're not someone who typically does a winged look, that's totally okay! I did not do a wing the first time I used these and it ended up looking just fine.
