Smashbox Vitamin Glow Primer

EXCITING STUFF GUYS! I was among one of the first people to test out the Smashbox Photo Finish Vitamin Glow Primer thanks to Influenster!

So Smashbox has some seriously good primers (I mean seriously good). They do a lot to take into account skin concerns like redness, dryness, oiliness, etc. This time Smashbox takes it a step further with the Photo Finish Vitamin Glow Primer.

This is literally skincare meets makeup. It has vitamins A, C, and E. These vitamins help even out your skin tone and help combat dullness (buh-bye stress skin)!

So, I did my normal skincare routine before applying this primer. It smelled kind of citrus-y which was nice. I don't mind fragrance in my products so long as it is not drying or overwhelming. It did not make my face shiny like the Tin Man, but it gave it like a natural glow. Think walking out of the spa after a refreshing facial kind of glow. It was kind of sticky which was surprising to me. Due to the stickiness, I definitely would NOT apply this without moisturizer. (Seriously- use moisturizer or it will be the weirdest and most uncomfortable kind of sticky on your face).
How it looks straight out of the bottle

The subtle glow

I gave this primer a few minutes to settle in before I applied my foundation. It went on pretty smoothly which is always a good sign. It never turns out well if the foundation starts balling up or sliding around. The other tell-tale sign of a not-so-good primer is when I blend my cream contour. If it turns red or starts sliding the contour off my face, I am not going to use it again. Thankfully, that misfortune did not happen.

By the end of the day, my makeup was still relatively intact. I did have some creasing in my smile lines and forehead lines (ahhh... the joys of already needing baby botox but being too afraid of needles).
End of the day check in

This wears beautifully with radiant, luminous, and dewy foundations. This is definitely going to be my summer go-to primer too when I am wearing my BB creams and more light coverage foundations. It runs at $39 which is pretty on par for Smashbox's primers. I will say that this is a great price for the fact that this is kind of like a 2-in-1 product.

Long story short
Pros: skincare and primer in one, subtle glow, even canvas for makeup application, price, wear with luminous
Cons: stickiness (need to wear with moisturizer), fragrance (can be overwhelming for some people), maybe not hydrating enough for dry skin in the winter to use with matte foundations

All in all, I have to give this product a Kel Yeah! I think the biggest selling point for me is that it is skincare and a primer in one. It takes one less step out of your day which is always a plus for me!
